Welcome to the forum. Nice looking ride you have there!  Cool

Is the dipstick tube broken or just the dipstick itself? I believe MTS offers replacement tubes. You need to be careful when installing the tube that it doesn't interfere with the rotating assembly as it is very close.

Good luck with your new toy

Your lucky then. Just find another dipstick from a salvage yard.

Any luck on finding the source of your coolant leak? Most likely its a head gasket issue, but there is another possibility. I've never heard of it happening yet, but if you look at the front of your engine & the water pump. You should be able to see that there is a flat piece of steel that separates the water pump from the timing chain galley. Many times that plate will develop pits in it. After a while those pits can grow into a hole allowing pressurized coolant to spray into the timing chain galley & down into your oil pan.

Good luck

water into the oil from the timing cover will not put water into the cylinders where it can come out the exhaust. It is most likely a head gasket as water can go thru the intake maniflod to the other side

Cadillac also has a specific thermostat.  Lots of good info on this site for a Caddy Gbody.  Being a newb you might also check out the big Cad specific vendor sites.
