Hi guys,
 I'm just getting started and looking for good info. I bought an '85, std cab, short bed S10. The truck was an old small block, pro street project. It's got an S&W backhalf kit installed with ladders, coil overs, and a 3.50 posi 9 inch. I have 2 questions at this point. 1) Is there a set of BBC fenderwell headers that can be modified and used with the caddy flange kit? 2) After modifying the standard cab firewall, am I going to have a footbox smaller than an Astro van? I can drive my '98 Astro with my boots on- my right foot won't fit between the brake pedal and the engine cover. Any input and pics of your mods would be greatly appreciated.                                 thanx, DJ

I'm think it will be smaller.
The S-10 is rather small to start.

DJ,

I moved the engine back in this car 25 year ago. [memory might be failing LOL] Was olds powered then, and they are wide too. There isn't much foot room.

Iirc, I used a narrow gas pedal ass'y from a mustangII [pinto] and a long cable from a mini van of some sort. I heated the brake pedal arm and bent it to the left a tad.

3960 lb '71 C-10. 11.7-1 CR 514". PEP I beam rods floating MTS 18cc dish Probes, Elgin solid cam, home ported heads, MTS 2.19/1.84", Potter/Probe shaft rockers, edel 2115, 4781 850. Switch-pitch TH400, 12" 1800/3200 Tri-Shield convertor, 4.30 gears. Best so far of 11.66, 114.8 mph and 1.59 sixty

 Have you started placing the engine yet, and if so are you going to have to have a dog house?  Were getting close to being ready to start on my son's, but we dont want to run a dog house.  We will probaly run the run the radiator in the bed since we play in a lot of mud.
 We've also had a 455 buick in 4x4 s-10 that still has all the ifs suspension and no dog house was required.  It was a tight fit but with the 2" body lift we even kept the ac. we used advanced adapters engine mounts an redrilled them to mount on the buick, pretty simple actually. We were even able to use the stock manifolds from a 68 riviera with just little grinding for clearance on the manifold.
  Sorry i'm off topic here, just curious what you are using for engine mounts and how the engine placement worked out.  We're just starting on my sons and havent gotten the far yet. Still converting it to a solid axle at this point,

Ron,
 Sorry for my lightning fast response. I don't get on the puter much when the weather's warm. I haven't made my mounts yet. I'm planning on running the radiator and tranny cooler in the bed, like you. I'm planning on making a tauna cover out of a breathable cloth, like speaker cover material.
