331 cadillac engine bolts

Hello.

I've been looking ALL over for some bolts and I can't find them anywhere.

I need head bolts and head bolt washers for a 1953 331 cadillac motor.

Anyone have any leads?

that's all that's holding me back from putting my engine back together.

Welcome to the board. This board is dedicated to the later Cadillac 472/500/425 series of engines. I don't know if there are many folks here that are very knowledgeable about the earlier engines.

If all else fails...

What are the chances of finding some high quality grade 8 or 9 bolts or studs from your local hardware store?

It's not something I've ever thought to look for while I was in the nut & bolt department, so I don't know if this idea is reasonable or not.

I worked with the 331 engines in the 50s and 60s.  Had a '53 Caddy in a '40 Ford pickup. And helped a friend with a '49 331 in a '54 Ford.  They were popular in early Ford swaps. The were a really great engine for their time.  The use of the 331 in '49 to '51 Fords coined the term "Fordillac". A nice combo.
